Workshop Information
The NIDCD will sponsor a scientific workshop, “Brain Stimulation for Treatment of Tinnitus,” on August 13-14, 2009. The focus of the meeting is to identify promising avenues for applying a range of neural prostheses to treat problematic tinnitus that remains unresolved after current treatment regimes. The meeting discussions will also work to identify appropriate applications of this approach for three distinct patient populations: civilians, veterans, and active military personnel.
The meeting will be held in the auditorium of the Lister Hill National Center for Biomedical Communications (Building 38A) on the NIH campus.
There will be limited space for poster presentations by workshop attendees in the Lister Hill Center. Only topics related to tinnitus will be considered. Posters will need to be available throughout the workshop and poster presenters should be available to discuss their work during the two breaks on each day.
Poster presentation proposals should include:
- Poster title
- Presenter(s) name
- Presenter(s) affiliation and contact information
- Brief description of poster (150 words or less), or PDF copy of the poster in horizontal format.
The deadline to submit a poster session proposal was Friday, July 24, 2009. We are no longer accepting proposals.
A limited number of rooms are reserved at the government-rate under the name “Tinnitus Workshop” at the Bethesda Marriott, 5151 Pooks Hill Road, Bethesda, MD 20814, 301-897-9400. These rooms are available for reservation on a first-come, first-served basis.
