Have students place the following common sounds into the chart below based on their estimate of each sound's noise level:

Airport, Ambulance, Cafeteria, Car Horn, Fire Siren, Heavy Traffic, Helicopter, Humming, Jet Airplane, Normal Conversation, Office Machinery, Quiet Neighborhood, School Dance (DJ), Small Party, Whispered Voice
