Profile of James Baldassano.
Education:

Ph.D., University of Maryland

Laboratory:

Section on Developmental Neuroscience

Principal Investigator:
Current Projects:

Currently, I am investigating neurons of the mammalian auditory brainstem. I use electrophysiology, genetics, and imaging techniques to determine the origin of inputs to medial olivocochlear (MOC) neurons, which provide inhibition to a number of brain areas, particularly outer hair cells (involved in cochlear amplification).

Research Interests:
Single cell electrophysiology, neuronal spiking properties, auditory brainstem circuitry
