Extramural Research Training Officer for Fellowship Programs
Jaclyn Schurman joined NIDCD to serve as the research training officer for fellowship programs. Dr. Schurman received an Au.D. and a Ph.D. from the University of Maryland, College Park. Prior to joining NIDCD, Dr. Schurman was a research investigator and audiologist at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. Her research focused on the impact of age, hearing loss, noise exposure, and cognitive function on subjective and objective auditory outcome measures. As a clinician-scientist, Dr. Schurman is interested in research aimed at improving the lives of individuals with disorders impacting their hearing, balance, taste, smell, voice, speech, or language.
