EARssentials: Concepts and Techniques of Contemporary Hearing Research
Source: Tessa Sanders, Ph.D.
EARssentials is a free course that provides a conceptual overview of the auditory system and introduces laboratory techniques and current research approaches to study hearing and the inner ear.
EARssentials is hosted and taught primarily by scientists at the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD), part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
The primary audience is NIDCD intramural trainees; however, individuals interested in auditory science from institutions across the globe are welcome to attend virtually, which is typically available.
The course includes introductory lectures, interactive discussions with faculty, and workshops that provide insight into research approaches used to study hearing and communication disorders.
