Description:

The National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD) Information Clearinghouse, a service of the NIDCD, is a national resource center for health information on hearing, balance, taste, smell, voice, speech, and language for health professionals, patients, and the public. The NIDCD Information Clearinghouse provides health information based on scientific discovery and disseminates it to the public. The clearinghouse answers inquiries, distributes publications and other resources, and works with partners to increase availability of materials to the public. In addition, the clearinghouse provides materials in Spanish, and bilingual information specialists are available to respond to inquiries.

The NIDCD’s national education campaign, It's a Noisy Planet. Protect Their Hearing ®, raises awareness among parents of preteens about the causes and prevention of noise-induced hearing loss.
