The mission of The Holley Institute, a nonprofit organization founded in 1993, is to provide life-enhancing programs for those experiencing hearing and vision loss or deafness, to provide programs for parents with children with hearing and vision loss or deafness, to screen all infants born at St. John Hospital in Detroit for hearing loss, and to provide community education and outreach programs, including audiology services. The Holley Institute owns and operates The Carls Family Village in Brooklyn, MI where residential programs designed specifically for Deaf, Deaf-Blind and hard of hearing adults, children and teens (and their families) are offered. The Institute also offers American Sign Language classes for a nominal fee at various metro Detroit locations.
