Appendix A: NIDCD Funding History
Appropriated funds for NIDCD increased dramatically in the first 15 years after the establishment of the Institute in FY 1989. Funding for NIDCD has remained fairly constant since FY 2005, and even with constrained budgets, NIDCD sustained only a 0.89 percent decrease in FY 2011. An additional $102.9 million was appropriated to NIDCD for FY 2009 through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) (Figure 1.)
