Source: Healthy People 2010: Objective 28-13b. The numbers of cochlear implants in the United States are based on the Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project, AHRQ, and the numbers of deaf or very hard-of-hearing persons are calculated from aggregating 5 years of annual surveys of the National Health Interview Survey, NCHS, CDC.
