Question 2: How do we hear?

Answer:

Inside your ear are little cells whose job it is to detect the vibrations in the air that constitute sound. These cells turn the vibrations into little electrical impulses that get sent to the brain. This is how you hear, interpret sound, and understand speech. These cells are exquisitely delicate and very sensitive to damage from a number of sources--one of them being loud noises.
