Dear Dr. Gulya:

My suggestions to revitalize temporal bone research are:

Make funding a priority to attract researchers;
Design a special study section to review temporal bone research applications;
Make available Research career development awards for temporal bone researchers;
Design a program for training researchers interested in temporal bone pathology which will include rotation in general pathology and learning new methodology;
Attract general pathologists to be trained in temporal bone pathology.
