V. Revised Review

Dr. Morton discussed the change in the review process, which assigned primary and secondary reviewers. She asked for comments from other BSC members to what their opinions were of the process. It was agreed that it has made the process more organized. It was also mentioned that the Committee should have three reviewers, two from the committee and one from the outside. Dr. Morton indicated the Committee could consider this and asked if one ad hoc reviewer would be enough. Dr. Wenthold mentioned that additional reviewers could be brought in as needed. Dr. Morton mentioned that it was helpful to receive written comments, and that it made the report more useful. She felt these were good ideas and that the committee is proceeding in a good direction. As mentioned earlier, since the original date of the next meeting is during the Human Genetics Meeting, Ms. Garrison will contact the members to arrive at a convenient date.
